Medicine

I have been on many different medicines over the past few years. Below are some of the ones ive been on:

Codeine: Opiate based narcotic pain relief, used to treat mild to severe pain.

Lamotrigine: Originally only used as an anti-epileptic but is often used ‘off-label’ as a mood stabiliser to treat bipolar and borderline personality disorder.

Quetiapine: A typical antipsychotic which works mainly on the serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitters. Used mainly in schizophrenia but also used for controlling manic phases in bipolar and to control hallucinations

Temazepam: Benzodiazepine (sedative and anxiety-reliever). Commonly used as sleeping tablet.

Tramadol: pain relief used to treat moderate to severe pain. Available only as POM, habit forming.

Venlafaxine: SNRI (Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor) prescribed for clinical depression and anxiety disorders.

Zopiclone: Hypnotic drug used as sleeping aid, shares characteristics and effects of benzodiazepines, but is chemically different from all other hypnotic drugs.
